Training and Consultancy

What is it?

We have two training offerings. The first is our public ‘Data Strategy creation and implementation course’. You can find all the details here. The second is a bespoke offering tailored to the needs of your university.

This service sits outside our standard offerings. It allows us to build flexible engagements with our deep subject matter expertise and knowledge of the sector. Examples include Data maturity assessments using the CMMI Model, organisational design based on the capability model, data improvement initiatives based on the HEDIIP (now HESA) Data Capability Toolkit and data quality/data governance training.

For data governance training, we partner with the fantastic Nicola Askham: https://www.nicolaaskham.com. Nicola and I have developed an HE version of her class leading training for Data Owners and Data Stewards.

How can I use it?

These are very much bespoke engagements based on individual institution requirements. They may form part of a wider engagement, or be a one off for a specific initiative. We get involved in all sorts of interesting projects, but we’ll never say yes to something we can’t bring some tangible value to.

Who else is using it?

Nicola and I have delivered data governance training to eight universities since 2018. We have seen an increase in demand for this training as data governance frameworks have become a priority for our customers.

The Leigh Partnership has worked with four organisations since 2018 on bespoke consultancy projects outside of our standard offerings.

What does it cost?

The cost is very dependant on the scope and size of the engagement. However, we recommend a fixed cost based on a very clear set of agreed outcomes.
